The Greater Louisville Project is made possible through the generosity of a consortium of philanthropic foundations convened by The Community Foundation of Louisville that includes The James Graham Brown Foundation, Brown-Forman, The C. E. & S. Foundation, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, The Community Foundation of Louisville, Gheens Foundation, The Humana Foundation and JPMorgan Chase Foundation.

Mason Rummel, Executive Director of the James Graham Brown Foundation serves as Chairman of the Policy Board that guides the Project. Its members include Matthew Barzun, Gordon Garner, David A. Jones Jr., Sammy Moon, Michael Mountjoy, Barret Nichols, Sharon Receveur, Dennis Riggs, William Summers, Tina Jo Walters, and Jim Welch.  Foundation staff who participate in the Policy Board include:  Rusty Cheuvront, Virginia Kelly Judd, Bruce Maza, and Carl Thomas. Carolyn Gatz, an independent consultant, directs the Project.
