Ongoing Initiative

The JCPS CARE for Kids initiative focuses on teaching the importance of social responsibility and developing positive relationships with both classmates and adults.  The character education initiative started in the current school year in 28 elementary schools and 24 middle schools as well as the district’s early childhood education centers.

Each CARE for Kids school promotes social, emotional, ethical and intellectual development while building an inclusive, caring, respectful, and supportive learning community that is physically and emotionally safe for all students and engages them as active participants in the classroom, school, and the larger community.
